LEWISTON – Robert L. Foster, 87, a resident of 6 Lexis Lane, Auburn died Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Central Maine Medical Center after a short illness.
He was born in Lisbon, May 6, 1919, the son of Joe and Sadie (Witham) Foster. He married the former Norma Seger on March 8, 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Bob was a “jack-of-all-trades.” He had an ability to fix anything broken which was his God-given skill that made him a natural “Mr. Fix-It” who never said no to helping a family member or neighbor in time of need. He even had his own hardware supply that was affectionately known as his own “Foster depot.”
He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family.
Survivors include his wife, Norma of Auburn; three daughters, Beverly Coffin of Yarmouth, Janice Davis, and her husband, Norton, of Auburn and Dorothy Kelleher of Portland; two sisters, Mabel and Louise; five grandchildren, Gregg, Mary-Jo, Todd and Lisa; and four great-grandchildren, Mattea, Zoe, Owen and Xander.
He was predeceased by four siblings, Liz, Jane, Fred and Lauren
