JAY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3335, American Legion Post 10, and Amvets Post 33 and auxiliaries have invited area residents and veterans to join them on Saturday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day, as they conduct in the annual rite of remembrance honoring those who have gone before.

All veterans are invited to participate in the events. Line-up will take place at 6:30 a.m. at VFW Post 3335, 64 Jewell St.

The following memorial services will take place: 7:15 a.m., Livermore Falls Grand Army of Republic, American Legion Post 10; 7:30, Livermore Falls Park, World War II Monument, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3335; 7:45, Livermore Falls Bridge, Amvets Post 33.

At 8:15 a.m., Brettuns Cemetery, American Legion; 8:45, Jay Bridge, POW-MIA Monument, Veterans of Foreign Wars; 9:15, Jay Hill Cemetery, Veterans Memorial dedication, Hyla Friedman.

At 10 a.m., Chisholm Square, War Memorial dedication, Veterans of Foreign Wars; 10:45, Richardson Cemetery, Amvets; 12:30 p.m., Fayette Veterans Memorial, American Legion.

A Veterans Day program will also take place at 11:30 a.m. at Farmington Wal-Mart. Those taking part will include VFW Post 3335, Sandy River Young Marines, Franklin County Fiddlers, Boy Scout Troop 594 and Girl Scout Troop 342.

There will be messages and musical selections, concluding with “Taps” performed by Sturgess Butler.
