This is in response to the article about a tree on city property falling on and causing damage to a private residence. The old adage – “You can’t fight city hall” – fits that case. City officials more or less said: “Oops. Sorry, but it’s not our fault.” I can bet that if the tree had been on private property and fell on a city-owned building, the city would have been there before the day was over.
It’s almost as if the city officials were saying “We can sue you, but you can’t sue us.” Confusing, isn’t it?
City officials seem to change the rules whenever it is convenient for them. I have concerns about abandoned cars sitting on private property and get different answers from city officials when I and others have lodged complaints.
I guess you really can’t fight city hall.
Is this a good example of our tax money at work?
