BIDDEFORD (AP) – A stabbing that sent Biddeford High School into lockdown was self-inflicted, police said.
School officials called police Tuesday morning to report the stabbing. When officers arrived, they found the 16-year-old victim in a bathroom with a knife sticking out his lower abdomen, police said.
The victim was taken to the Maine Medical Center and the school went into lockdown. Students were later released for the day.
There were initial reports of an altercation, but police concluded after interviewing the victim that the wound was self-inflicted.
