LEWISTON – Normand and Jeannine Berube of Lewiston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently at a gathering at the Ramada Inn. The party was hosted by their daughter, Patricia, and her husband, Peter Taveira, and son, Henry and Robin Berube.
Mr. Berube and the former Jeannine Ayotte were married on Aug. 18, 1956, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston.
Mrs. Berube is a graduate of Lewiston High School and had been employed at Family Health Care Associates, retiring in 2002. She is a member of the Ladies of St. Anne of Holy Family Church.
Mr. Berube is a graduate of Lewiston High School and was employed at Bates Fabrics Inc. for 12 years and was a member of the Maine Army National Guard, Company C, 133rd Engineer Battalion of Lewiston for 41 years. For the last 10 years, he was on active duty with the Maine Army National Guard, retiring in 1990. He then went to work for Jones and Vining for 10 years. He is a member of American Legion Post 135 and a member of the Maine Table Tennis League. He also volunteers at the Lewiston Public Library.
Besides their daughter, Patricia, and son, Henry, they had a son, Richard, who died in 1994. They also have four grandchildren, Olivia and Jillian Taveira, and Tyler and Kyle Berube.
