LEWISTON – Lucille A. Langlais, 69, of Montello Street in Lewiston, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, Nov. 11, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 17, 1937, the daughter of Egide and Violetta Berube.

She was educated in local schools. She graduated from Lewiston High School, St. Mary’s School of Nursing, and the University of Southern Maine, where she achieved her master’s degree in education.

On Aug. 22, 1959, she married Raymond Langlais at Holy Cross Church.

She worked for many years at St. Mary’s Hospital as a registered nurse, and served as a supervisor for several of those years, until her retirement in 2004. During her career she worked as an instructor at St. Mary’s School of Nursing and Mid-State College in the medical assistants’ program.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church and enjoyed baking, canning, sewing, reading and playing cards.

She was also very involved in the planning of her 50th year high school reunion.

She will be fondly remembered by her four children, Diane Gray and husband, Jim, of Cumberland, Denise Langlais of Lewiston, Raymond Langlais Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Springfield, Va., and Doris Langlais of Winthrop; five grandchildren, Kim and Danny Langlais, Ian and Michelle Gray, and Katana Langlais; and two brothers, Robert A. Berube and wife, Venise, of Lisbon and Bert Berube.

She was predeceased by her husband and her parents.
