WILTON – Firefighters arrived at a house fire Monday early enough to save all but one wall, fire Lt. Tom Doak said.
Wilton firefighters received a call from 7 Flagstaff St. at around 3:10 p.m., Doak said. Randy Barker Sr., who lives there with wife, Kathy Barker, said a wall was on fire.
Firefighters from Wilton and Farmington arrived at the scene early enough to save the house, Doak said.
Part of that one wall was all that was damaged. Doak estimated the damage at around $1,000.
Firefighters think heat from a wood-burning stove’s pipe going through the wall might have started the fire, but can’t be sure, Doak said.
“It was not a difficult fire. We were fortunate it hadn’t expanded any more,” Doak said. The home is livable, he added.
