NORRIDGEWOCK – A woman who was killed when she was struck by a pickup truck late Sunday afternoon has been identified as 44-year-old Tamara Allen of Norridgewock, according to state police.
Allen, who was not carrying identification, was not immediately identified Sunday. She died at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor where she was taken by ambulance.
Allen was wearing dark clothing while walking along Route 8 when she was struck by a pickup truck driven by Nelson Mitchell, 63, of Smithfield. It was raining at the time of the accident. State police responded to the vehicle-pedestrian accident at 4:30 p.m.
No charges have been filed, however, the final crash report will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office before a final decision will be made, according to state police.
