MEXICO – Mill View Bookstore has lined up five Maine authors to give readings, sign books, tell stories, answer questions and give readers a chance to meet them.

Daniel Sirois, who owns the store with his wife, Romala, said the business has held meet the author events in the past, but never with as many as five authors.

This is his fifth year in business at the Main Street location.

Sirois’ meet the author month kicks off Nov. 25 when Maine humorist John MacDonald of Portland will appear.

His newest book, “Down the Road Apiece,” along with his popular “A Moose and a Lobster Walk into a Bar…” will be available.

Next up, on Dec. 2, is longtime WMTW weatherman Marty Engstrom of Fryeburg, who will read from and sign copies of “Marty on the Mountain: 38 Years on Mt. Washington.”

On Dec. 9, new author Stacy L. Welner of South Harpswell will discuss her book, “Tragedy in Casco Bay,” the nonfiction account of the sinking of The Don, a ship that carried 28 people from Rumford, all of whom died.

Nationally known children’s author Lynn Plourde of Winthrop will read from her newest book, “Pigs in the Mud,” along with several other works on Dec. 16.

Wrapping up on Dec. 23 will be William D. Andrews, author of a fictional mystery about the theft of artifacts from the Maine State Museum, titled “Stealing History.”

All events run from 1 to 5 p.m.
