RUMFORD – Selectmen will hold the second of two public hearings on a planned renovation of the Municipal Building on Thursday before their regular meeting.
The hearing starts at 6:30 p.m. in the American Legion Hall on Congress Street, followed by the regular meeting as close to 7 p.m. as possible.
The town must make changes to the nearly century-old building to meet safety and public access requirements. Later in the meeting, the date for a special town meeting to act on a renovation project will be set.
The first in a series of presentations by department heads will be made by Fire Chief John Woufe. Selectmen will use information presented by each department head, along with preferences of residents, to determine service levels when the municipal budget is developed.
Other agenda items include:
• bid openings for an architect’s rendition of library expansion or replacement.
• a discussion on the town’s share of the Oxford County budget.
• an update on the town’s under-construction business park.
• adoption of an internal control policy.
• awarding a contract for library window replacements.
• reports by department heads and the tax collector.
