DIXFIELD – Selectmen unanimously signed a contract for Town Manager Jeff Jacobson Monday night, extending his position for a year.

The action was taken following a closed session.

Jacobson, a Minnesota native, began his work with the town in January 2006. He took over after the town experimented with sharing Town Manager John Madigan with Mexico. Madigan is now the full-time manager in Mexico.

Jacobson was hired at an annual salary of $38,000. With the new contract, which goes to Oct. 16, 2007, that salary was increased to $42,000.
