JAY – Police are investigating the theft of more than $7,000 from a Route 133 residence.

The resident reported the money missing Thursday night from a safe along with prescription medication and wine glasses, Jay Police Chief Larry White Sr. said Friday.

The theft could have occurred within the last few months, he said.

Detective Richard Caton IV collected some evidence at the scene and does have some leads on a possible suspect.
