LEWISTON – Norman J. Verrill, 71, of Lewiston passed away on Nov. 15, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born on Jan. 9, 1935, in Portland, the son of Carrolous and Ethel Verrill. He attended Mechanic Falls High School before serving in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a lifetime chef from various locations in the United States and for NATO in Israel, as well as having owned a restaurant in Yuma, Ariz. He was married to the late Eleanor Greenlaw Verrill.
He was a member of the Pathway Community Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Haley; son, Norman J. Verrill Jr., and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Justin Verrill, Matthew Potratz, Trevor Haley, Kimberly Verrill, Lillian Verrill and Edith Morin; his brother, Carrolous Verrill Jr., and wife, Ginnie, of Shapleigh; sisters, Ruth Herrick, and husband, Wilmont, of Mechanic Falls, Elizabeth Grant, and husband, Gerald, of Oxford and Carolyn Fickes, and husband, Richard, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and many nephews and nieces.
