I believe members of the Bangor City Council deserves a round of applause. I have believed for years that children are at the mercy of their parents’ cigarette smoke. The Bangor City Council is attempting to make it the law that no person can smoke a cigarette in a vehicle that contains a child.

What I would love to see is for the entire state to follow suit, but not stopping with smoking in vehicles. There should be a ban on smoking in households while children are present.

I was a smoker for years, and never once would anyone see me smoking a cigarette in front of my son. Would it really kill anyone to step outside to smoke a cigarette? I know that it could kill the children if we don’t.
