AUBURN – Thomas C. Greeley, 46, died late Saturday evening, Nov. 18, at the Hospice House in Auburn, following a nine-month courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 23, 1960, in Farmington, the son of Clayton and June (Harlow) Greeley.
He was a 1979 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He married Terry Hamatys; they later divorced.
He worked at Bass Shoe in Wilton for 25 years and for the last two years, he worked at Walmart in Farmington. He was a member of Wilton Fish and Game.
He enjoyed camping at Rol-Lin Hills Campground in Livermore, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.
He attended the First Baptist Church in Livermore Falls and Calvary United Methodist Church of Lewiston.
He is survived by his parents, Clayton and June Greeley of Livermore Falls; his companion, Nancy Craig; and her daughters, Jen and Mira of Lisbon Falls; three sons, Russell Greeley serving in the Armed Forces, stationed in Colorado; William “Bill” Greeley serving in Iraq, due to return to Iraq on Nov. 28, and Christopher Greeley of Livermore Falls; two brothers, Stephen Greeley Sr. and his wife, Carolyn, of North Jay, and their son Jared, Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne, presently in Iraq; and Scott Greeley, his wife, Ann, and their daughter, Jessica, of Waterville.
He was predeceased by his nephew, Stephen Greeley Jr., in 2002.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses that assisted in his care at Central Maine Medical Center and the Hospice House.
