Legion supper

LIVERMORE FALLS – A baked bean, hot dog and casserole supper will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the American Legion, 17 Reynolds Ave. The Legion will deliver meals within a five-mile radius.

Group to meet

LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls Downtown Betterment Group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Chuck Wagon Restaurant. The public is welcome.

Santa to visit

RANGELEY – Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves will visit the children during breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Conference Center, Wilhelm Reich Museum, Dodge Pond Road.

Christmas cookies will be decorated and there will be a sing-along of children’s Christmas carols from 9:30 to 10 a.m.

Santa’s helpers will prepare a breakfast of chocolate chip, blueberry or plain pancakes served with syrup, sausages and a beverage. Admission will be $5 a person. Proceeds will benefit the Wilhelm Reich Museum. For more information, call 864-3443.

Silent auction

FARMINGTON – A holiday silent auction will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Fairbanks Union Church, Route 4. Holiday gifts, gift baskets, crafts, toys, dolls, wreaths, centerpieces, antiques and food will be available to bid on. Notification of winners will begin following closing of bids. People do not need to be present to win.

During the day, hot dogs, doughnuts, cookies and bars will be available. There will be a raffle of a hassock filled with games, puzzles, scrapbooking material, card games and food. Raffle tickets are $1 each. The winner will not need to be present to win.

Christmas fair

READFIELD – A New England Community Christmas Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Readfield (Torsey) United Methodist Church, Kents Hill.

There will be handmade crafts, special holiday foods and baked goods, fudge, a cookie walk, recycled treasures, supervised children’s shopping area and wreaths, swags and kissing balls custom decorated.

The fair will also feature a silent auction of specialty-theme baskets. A luncheon will feature fish and corn chowder, chicken salad croissants, pie and a children’s menu.

Holiday sale

AVON – A Christmas in Avon sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Avon Community Hall.

Area craftsmen will offer stained glass gifts, quilts, wreaths, swags, knitted and crocheted items, wooden ware, jams, jellies and pickles, in addition to baked items and fudge.

A table of gently used items will be offered. Chili will be available to eat in or take out. Phillips Girl Scouts will sing Christmas carols and sell items they made. A 50/50 raffle and a crafters’ products raffle will be offered.
