LIVERMORE – Walter Corry Jones Sr., 53, of Livermore, died unexpectedly Nov. 18.
He was born in Bangor on Oct. 28, 1953, the son of William P. and Patricia (Sampson) Jones Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served his country from 1972 to 1992, retiring as a technical sergeant.
He married Anna M. Whitmore on Dec. 23, 1972. He was a member of the John D. Long Post 58 American Legion, Post 9787 VFW of Buckfield and the A.F and A.M. of Buckfield.
He had a great sense of humor and nobody was a stranger to him. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, the outdoors and traveling to the Rangeley area and the ocean. He especially enjoyed the time spent with family and friends over coffee, but was most appreciative of Western Movies Wednesdays.
He is survived by his wife, Anna of Livermore; two sons, Walter Jones Jr. and Samantha Morris of Turner and William Jones of Lewiston; one daughter, Shelly Jones and John E. Gotham Jr. of Lewiston; two brothers, William Jones Jr., and his wife, Annette, of Turner and Ken Jones of California; two sisters, Rosie Spence of Lewiston and Kathleen McGee, and her husband, James, of Bowdoinham; and three grandchildren, Joshua K. Jones and John N. Jones, both of Livermore and Jeffery T. Gotham of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by his parents.
The family would like to say thank-you to the towns of Jay and Livermore for all their support.
