NORWAY – The Fare Share Cooperative and Commons Arts Cooperative will showcase art and crafts made by members at a Fare Share craft fair on Saturday, Nov. 25. The fair will also include a bake sale to benefit Fare Share.

Items will include pottery from Christian Ridge Pottery, yarn from Wrinkle in Thyme Farm and calendars to benefit the “Save the Barn on Stearns Hill Farm” Project. Holiday shoppers will also find jewelry, figurines, knit items, decorative wall clocks and handmade cards made by local artists.

In addition, herbalist Brenda Lynn Gould will offer a selection of books on natural living, and local artist Jane Gibson will demonstrate the linoprint technique she used to illustrate the Stearns Hill Farm calendar.

The Fare Share Cooperative is a not-for-profit corporation that does business as the Fare Share Market. Founded in the early 1970s, Fare Share is controlled by its member families. It strives to provide a low-cost source of food to the community and to educate the community about nutrition, agriculture and alternative technology.

The Commons Art Collective is comprised of artists of Western and Southern Maine who explore the boundaries of expression in a variety of media. The mission is to maintain an active schedule of exhibitions on the Commons gallery walls and nurture a community of artists. It rents space in the Commons area of Norway’s Fare Share Co-op. A new art show is mounted each month.
