SOUTH PARIS – The wedding of Laura Behrens Maxfield and Brian James Nichols was held at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the South Paris Baptist Church. Pastor John Dancer officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Nichols is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Maxfield of Norway. Mr. Nichols is the son of Phyllis Nichols of Augusta and the late James Nichols.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white halter neck gown with embroidered bodice from which a layer of organza overlay flowed over the bottom of the gown. The edges of the gown and train were trimmed with lace.
A sister of the bride, Katie Jule Maxfield, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Karen Allen, cousin of the bride, Lori Erskine, sister of the bridegroom, and Mikala Varney, friend of the bride. Abigail Rogers, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.
Performing the duties of best man was Caleb Erskine, nephew of the bridegroom, and ushers were Albert Erskine, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Darrel Brann and Chris Vallance, friends of the bridegroom. Jackson Hayden, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
A reception followed at the Guy Rowe School in Norway, after which the couple traveled to Vermont. They are residing in Jefferson.
The bride attended Thomas College in Waterville and is employed at the Maine State Prison in Warren.
The bridegroom graduated from Central Maine Technical College and is employed at Mainely Trusses in Fairfield.
