WILTON – The door to the Boy Scout lodge at Kineowatha Park was damaged after somebody tried to enter it by peeling off the wood on the outside, police officer Bob Cole said Monday.

“They pried off plank wood and then punched out the center lock,” Cole said. “Nothing was taken, but they did about $200 damage to the door.”

The vandalism occurred between Nov. 19 and Nov. 25, Cole said. Police have no leads in the case, he added.

Shelley’s Home Town Market was also vandalized this week, Cole said. Officer Kevin McCutcheon discovered the front door had been shattered by a rock at 3 a.m on Sunday, Cole said.

Deputy Dave Rackliffe and his police dog assisted McCutcheon in looking for leads. “The dog did find a track,” Cole said, and police have a few leads in the case. “We’re working on it,” he said.
