Christmas country

MECHANIC FALLS – Christmas Country Sunday will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Silver Spur, Route 121. Music will be provided by Bobby Reed and the Wild Horse Band and others. There will be a cookie/candy walk, raffles, 50/50, pie auction and special guest Santa.

Cost is $7 for adults and $4 children under 12. Each child will receive a gift. Proceeds will help the band go to Tennessee to represent the state in the national finals. For more information, call Lorri at 966-2771, Bobby at 633-4106 or Barbara at 674-5667.

Rebekah Lodge

AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the meeting room of the Grand Lodge, IOOF, 80 Caron Lane. All members are asked to bring cookies for a cookie swap and to help prepare goodie boxes for the 11 shut-in members. A regular meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. Rebekahs and Odd Fellows from all over the state will participate in making a merry Christmas for residents of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home of Maine at 85 Caron Lane. Rebekah Assembly President Helen Witham and her committee will prepare for the party beginning Wednesday, Dec. 6. The committee will gather to decorate, to visit with the residents, to shop and wrap for gifts for them and to help Santa distribute gifts on Saturday.

Fortier Chapter

LEWISTON – The Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52, Association Canado-Americaine, will gather at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the Senior Citizens Room of the Multi-Purpose Center.

Included on the agenda will be a report by Robert Couturier on recent developments at the ACA home office in Manchester, N.H. A social hour with refreshments will follow.

Sodality meeting

LEWISTON – The Rosary Sodality will hold its annual joint Christmas party with the members of St. Vincent de Paul on Tuesday, Dec. 5. The event will start with recitation of the Rosary in the chapel at 6:30 p.m. An evening in the Msgr. Gleason Hall will include an exchange of gifts, and a lunch will be served.
