PARIS – A pot roast supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Deering Memorial Methodist Church. Cost for adults is $7; under 12, $3.

Yard sale

PARIS – An inside Christmas yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, beginning Dec. 2 until Christmas, at 659 Park St., Route 26, South Paris to benefit the Families In Crisis Task Force Christmas programs. Country Christmas

MECHANIC FALLS – Christmas Country Sunday will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Silver Spur, Route 121. Music will be provided by Bobby Reed and the Wild Horse Band and others. There will be a cookie/candy walk, raffles, 50/50, pie auction and special guest Santa.

Advent services

PARIS – First Congregational Church is opening its doors to the community for Advent. On Sunday, Dec. 3, there will be two services. At the regular worship service at 10 a.m., the Rev. Don Mayberry’s sermon topic will be “Hope.” Then at 5 p.m., the church will host its annual “Hanging of the Greens” service.

That service will feature special music by the church choir and the Vocal Solution. During the service the church is decorated for the season and everyone is welcome. Virginia Noble and Forest Perkins will provide the music.

Seniors to meet

OXFORD – The Oxford Senior Citizens will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Dec. 4, at the Oxford Recreation Building, King Street, to play cards and games. All are welcome. For more information, call Barbara Hall at 539-4746 or Pat Frye at 539-0979.

Grange program

WEST PARIS – West Paris Grange 298 met on Nov. 16 with special guests Roby Meister of the Membership Committee and Carol Coffin and husband, Dana. Carol, is the State Grange soloist.

Elizabeth Bragg spoke on belonging to the Grange for more than 50 years and what it means to her. Many others also told how much Grange means in their lives.

The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the hall.

A Christmas program and party, preceded by a chowder supper at 6:30 p.m., will be held Thursday, Dec. 21. Gifts of no more than $3 should be suitable for either man or woman.

Seniors luncheon

WEST PARIS – A potluck luncheon of West Paris Senior Citizens will be held at noon Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the West Paris Baptist Church, followed by the monthly meeting and Christmas party. Gifts should be for either a woman or man and cost about $3.
