AUBURN – Master Sgt. Michael Girouard of Auburn was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for 40 years of outstanding achievement as a member of the Maine Army National Guard.

Girouard has directly impacted the level of training for hundreds of soldiers. His devotion to duty has earned him the respect and admiration of all his colleagues. His outstanding performance reflects credit upon himself and the Maine Army National Guard.

Girouard is a graduate of Lewiston High School and lives in Auburn with his wife, Joan.
