AUBURN – To kick off the holiday season, the Auburn Public Library will hold a holiday open house for the public from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3. The open house will feature caroling, a poinsettia sale and a holiday raffle.

The raffle will feature prizes donated from a variety of businesses and individuals, including a Vera Bradley bag from Lamey-Wellehan, a Christmas basket from Tonie Ramsey, two jam and jelly baskets from Georgie’s Goodies, an original painting by David Footer and a blueberry basket from Mona Ervin. Each ticket is $2, or patrons may purchase three tickets for $5.

The poinsettia sale will start during the open house and will continue through December. Patrons will have a selection of colors to choose from, including burgundy, white, red, green/red, pink and variegated at a cost of $8 each. The plants come wrapped in foil.

In addition, the event will feature crafts for children by Lynette Heath, caroling by Girl Scout Troop 551 of Auburn, refreshments and tours of the library.
