LEWISTON – Betty Ann Spinney, 81, of Winterhaven, Fla., and a summer resident of Industry, died Monday, Nov. 27, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Warren, Vt., on Sept. 15, 1925, the daughter of Allan M. and Zoa T. Fletcher Jr. She graduated from Black River Academy in Ludlow, Vt., in 1943, and attended Colby Junior College in New London, N.H.

On June 12, 1948, she married Phillip Spinney in Ludlow, Vt. She worked in retail sales until her retirement in 1978. She enjoyed genealogy, mystery novels and spending time at Clearwater Lake in Industry.

She is survived by her son, James Spinney of Boston, Mass.; two grandchildren, Phillip Manning of Salem, Ore., and Kathryn Susbauer of Lewiston; one brother, Robert Fletcher of Colchester, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Phillip; her daughter, Anne; her parents; and two sisters, Flora Hakey and Stella Gordon.
