Dixfield church plans men’s breakfast, fair

DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Church on the Hill will open its doors for a Christmas fair at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. A men’s breakfast will be served before the booths open at 8.

In addition to raffles, candy and the children’s cookie walk, the men’s table will sponsor a silent auction, including an array of collectible Beanie babies and a Sears exercise bicycle. The secondhand table will hold books, puzzles and treasures to put in a bag for $1.

There will be a craft table, and Marj Kennedy and Shane Jamison will have homemade pies, cakes and squares on the food table while the men sell aged cheese, baked beans and cheesecake. Lunchtime will feature chicken and biscuits.

Fair Chairwomen Nancy Tapley and Barbara Arsenault have announced that “Because this year is our bicentennial celebration, our memorabilia will also be on sale: the cookbook, sweatshirts, aprons, tote bags and notepads. And we also have a table at the Christmas in the Valley Fair, so plan to catch both of us on your fair route on Saturday.”
