Christopher McVety of Otisfield has been accepted to Susquehanna University’s Honors Program in Selinsgrove, Pa. He is a freshman economics major.

The Honors Program offers a challenging program of study to students interested in a more self-directed and interdisciplinary approach to learning. The curriculum comprises special courses and projects through all four undergraduate years. Discussion groups, lectures, off-campus visits and residential programs complement Honors Program courses.

Approximately 10 percent of each entering class in invited to join. In order to remain in the program, they must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3

McVety, a 2006 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, is the son of David and Linda McVety.
