PORTLAND – The Maine International Trade Center will host a seminar on import compliance on Dec. 13, complete with breakfast and networking opportunities.
Susan Bell of Albatrans will present the ins and outs of import compliance. With years of experience in customs brokering, Bell will instruct on importing and compliance issues as well as discuss important upcoming changes to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and valuation methods to help save money.
Ed Foster, international logistics specialist for Cole-Haan Footwear, will discuss his many years of working in import compliance for one of the most successful footware companies in the U.S. Topics include: the importance of professional advice and training; documentation of internal controls; and a system to determine if internal controls are working.
