PARIS – Two men were indicted on charges of Class A gross sexual assault by the Oxford County grand jury on Thursday.
Clark Gadway, 46, of 896 Edes Falls Road, Harrison, was arrested Nov. 4 by Maine State Police on two charges of gross sexual assault, and was indicted on both counts.
According to a police affidavit, Gadway had a sexual relationship with a Paris minor under 14 between Oct. 1, 2005, and Aug. 4, 2006.
Police were alerted to the case after the girl’s mother grew concerned about messages her daughter was sending on the computer. An interview with the girl led them to Gadway.
The girl was a family friend, records state.
Gadway is out on bail.
In another case, Robert Raftice, 20, of 10 Terry Circle, Sabattus, was arrested by Rumford police on Nov. 7 on charges of gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact and violating conditions of release. He was indicted on all three counts.
Police said previously that they were led to Raftice starting Sept. 5 after a concerned parent in Mexico approached them.
Raftice had baby-sat the victims, police said, and both were under 7.
