FARMINGTON – Two women walked into Ken and Sadie’s Country Store Friday afternoon, threatened to shoot the owners and then forced them into a back room before taking money from two cash registers and other items from the store, police Detective Marc Bowering said.

The store is reportedly owned by Ken Martin.

The two women, both described as about 5-feet-4-inches tall with nondescript clothing, left the store on Vienna Road, also Route 41, in Farmington Falls, got in a vehicle and drove off in an unknown direction, the Farmington detective said.

The owners, who did not see a gun, were threatened with bodily harm if they came out of the room, Bowering said.

Police did not know how much cash was taken from the store.

“We’re following up on some leads,” Bowering said.

It is the third robbery in less than a month under investigation by the Farmington Police Department, and the second involving Ken and Sadie’s.

The first robbery was reported on Sunday, Nov. 5, when two males took about $400 from a woman’s hand in the parking lot as she left Ken and Sadie’s store.

The second robbery was at Movie Gallery at Mt. Blue Shopping Center on Routes 2 and 4 on Sunday, Nov. 12, when a man brandished a gun and made eight customers lie on the floor and demanded money from an employee before fleeing the store.

Anyone with information on Friday’s case or the others is asked to call Farmington Police Department at 778-6311.
