This is in response to a letter to the editor from Freeman Lewis, printed Nov. 27. I certainly agree with what he says, but I want to make a correction. The tax on a carton of cigarettes is $20, not $2. Buyers are also paying a sales tax on top of the $20 tax. How is that for fairness – a tax on a tax.
