AUGUSTA – Anna Elizabeth Kus, 92, of Cony Road, died Saturday, Dec. 2, at Maine Veterans’ Home after a long illness.

She was born in Chelsea on Nov. 6, 1914, the daughter of Michael and Ludovicam Louise (Mitoraj) Trytek.

She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and a life member of the Ladies Legion Auxiliary.

She had been employed for several years by the State of Maine and for many years at Bates Manufacturing Company Edwards Division.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Kus, who was killed in action in World War II on Oct. 14, 1944; six brothers, Frank, Stanley, Joseph, Walter and Anthony Trytek; and two sisters, Sophie Kus and Antonia Kus.

Survivors include a son, Richard Olejnik of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Maryann Jalbert and her husband, John, of Mechanic Falls; a sister, Helen Tibbetts of Golden, Colo.; two grandsons, Thomas Jalbert and wife, Barbara, of Burlingame, Calif., and Gregory Jalbert and wife, Kimberly; a great-granddaughter, Isabelle Jalbert of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends a special thank-you to the entire staff of the Maine Veterans Home for their excellent care of mother.
