NEW HAVEN, Vt. (AP) – The death of the owner of the Dog Team Tavern whose body was found in the burned out rubble of his restaurant has been ruled a suicide.

The Addison County State’s Attorney’s office said the body of Christopher Hesslink, 42, had “head trauma consistent with a gunshot wound” and a shotgun was found next to the body.

The well-known restaurant was destroyed by fire on Sept. 1. Hesslink’s body was found inside later that day.

Addison County State’s Attorney John Quinn said he didn’t have any official word on the cause of the fire nor did he believe anyone else was involved.
