LEWISTON – The first Lewiston Art Show is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the YWCA on East Avenue.

Fifteen local artists, many students of Lewiston Adult Education, have come together to display and sell their works at the YWCA. Works will primarily include paintings, drawings and photography.

The concept was developed by Jette Rasmussen, artist and long-time student of Lewiston Adult Education. A number of Lewiston Adult Education students were looking for the chance to share their creativity with the community, including other local artists. This event will allow them to join and display their talents.

The YWCA is housing the event and will benefit from art projects that will be donated by the participants. During the morning hours, Lewiston Adult Education representatives will be on hand for those looking to purchase gift certificates good toward the cost of a class for the winter/spring term, scheduled to begin Monday, Jan. 29.

Any artist who would like to participate should contact the YWCA at 795-4050 for registration information. There is no admission fee attend the show, and all are welcome.
