AUBURN – Gerard R. Bellmore, 58, of Harmon’s Corner Road, owner of U.S. Glass & Aluminum Co., died Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
He was born in Lewiston, April 4, 1948, the son of Fernand and Jeannette Bell Bellmore.
He was educated in Lewiston schools, including Lewiston High School.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Army National Guard Company C 133rd Engineering Battalion in Lewiston until May 1988.
He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Marksman Shooting Badge.
He was married April 18, 1970, to Linda Pelletier. Prior to owning his business, he was employed at L & A Awning and Soule Glass Company.
He was a longtime communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church and was a member of the Mid Maine Vets, New Auburn Little League sponsor and the United Commercial Travelers. He was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Maineiacs fan.
He is survived by his wife of Auburn; two sons, Scott and wife, Sherri, and a special grandson, Jeffrey, all of Mechanic Falls and Timothy of Sabattus; his mother, Jeannette Savard of Lewiston; two brothers, Paul of Monmouth, and Dennis and wife, Nadine, of Lewiston; a sister, Marlene Wallace, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and pepere. His family wishes to especially thank the caring and loving staff at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
