LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine has several events scheduled during December. A Community Art Show will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9. The show is the brain child of Jetta Rasmussen, an amateur artist who has been taking lessons through Lewiston Adult Education. There will be 20 artists displaying and selling their original works.

Artists wishing to register for the show should do so soon as space is limited. The public is invited attend to the art show free.

Monday evenings are reserved for indoor soccer in the Wade Center. Beginning at 6 p.m., there is a female-only hour of intermural soccer for women age 14. The pick-up games are organized by soccer coach Butch Dow. At 7 p.m. play continues as a co-ed soccer activity. Members of the YWCA may attend and play at no charge. Nonmembers pay $8 an evening. Indoor soccer will continue through spring.

The first Thursday of the month model enthusiasts meet to share their creations and work on models. Members of the YWCA may participate at no cost. Nonmembers pay an $8 fee per session. Participants bring their own models.
