LEWISTON – The Lewiston CareerCenter hosts an unemployed professionals group every Monday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Upcoming program topics are: Dec. 11, “Insurance Industry Trends” with presenter Mike Clark from MetLife; Dec. 18, to be announced; no meetings on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1; Jan. 8, “Behavioral Interviewing” with Stephanie Fisher of Manpower; Jan. 15, no meeting; Jan. 22, “Search Strategies” with Heather Banester Bassett, Employment Times; Jan. 29, “Finding a Job Using Staffing Services” with Sheila Williams, Kelly Services.
Registration is not required for the Unemployed Professionals Group.
The Lewiston/Auburn Area Unemployed Professionals Group provides support, resources, and networking opportunities for unemployed and underemployed professionals while providing employers with a valuable talent pool from which to recruit and hire.
A job club will meet at the CareerCenter every Monday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Topics vary weekly, but focus on job search strategy and skills, networking and information sharing. Registration is not required for the job club.
Other workshops offered at the CareerCenter include: Career Decision Making, Writing a Resume, and Interviewing Skills. Call 753-9005 to register for those workshops and to get additional information.
All events are free of charge and are held at the CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, Lewiston.
