LEWISTON – Now on display at the Beeaker Gallery at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center are paintings by Gloria Brochu Limoges of Lewiston.

Limoges starting painting as a child. After spending most of her life as a dental assistant for her husband, art drew her back again. She has taken courses at the Maine School of Art in Portland and at the University of Maine.

Limoges prefers painting in oil because of its richness and luminosity.

Her favorites are still life, portrait and figure paintings. In recent years, she has been venturing in steel and stone sculpture, which she enjoys doing in her outdoor studio during the summer.

Limoges’ work has been included in a juried exhibit at L/A College and a recent piece can be seen behind the altar at St. Philip’s Church, Route 4. Her work can be seen at the Beeaker Gallery until Jan. 2.
