AUBURN – Tracy Houanche of Lewiston is among those who have made the trek to Vista Drive to see a Christmas light display created by surgeon Jamie Loggins.

“It’s just amazing – completely amazing!” she said from her car on a recent night. “It is wonderful. It is so great they’re sharing it; it really is.”

Her son, Tyler Lorrain, 10, one of three children in the back seat, agreed.

“Amazing. Very amazing!” Tyler said as he gazed at the lights. He planned to tell others about it.

Visitors can tune in to an FM radio station and get music that plays in synch with the flashing lights.

Amy Blais of Lewiston was taking in the sights and sounds with her little boy, Trevon.

“It is great,” Blais said. “I have never seen anything like this.”

“Look at the fireworks!” Trevon said, pointing.

“Did you notice when the Grinch song comes on, he comes right up and sits up?” Blais asked. “It’s really wonderful.”

A family living across the street said they are enjoying it, but traffic could be an issue.

They like the lights, they said. When they used to live in the Midwest, whole neighborhoods would deck out their houses.

“It’s nice because there’s lots of decorations everywhere,” said Skylar Rubocki, 8. “It’s nice because there’s lights and you can see them really good. They’re playing to a song. I like it.”

“Maybe next year we can have him do the whole subdivision,” joked Skylar’s father.

Skylar’s mother said the only problem was that at times she has to “almost sit in line” to pass. “I’d pull by everyone, but people are coming down the other way, coming back.”

Most of the motorists have been nice and make sure not to stop so they’re blocking someone’s path, she said. “If it was 10 cars long I’d be annoyed. But otherwise it is quite amazing. The kids love it.”

Another neighbor, who declined to be named, didn’t seem happy with the display.

“I got blocked in twice yesterday,” she said.
