LEWISTON – Lionel B. Castonguay, 85, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lewiston, Oct. 8, 1921, the son of Joseph and Amanda (Cloutier) Castonguay. He was educated in Lewiston schools and worked as an electrician in the Lewiston Auburn area.

He served his country during World War II, serving with Merrill’s Marauders in the China-Burma-India campaign and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.

On May 18, 1946, he married Jeannette Ducharme who predeceased him on April 3, 1994.

Survivors include his six children, Nancy Ouellette, and her husband, Ronald, of Naperville, Ill., Gerald Castonguay, and his wife, Lillian, of Greene, Dianne Keys, and her husband, Michael, of Lisbon Falls, Michael Castonguay, and his wife, Mary, of Acton Mass., Donald, and his wife, Debra, of Lewiston and Joan Metayer, and her companion, Rodney Richardson, of Leeds; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Rioux and Lucille Barrett and two brothers, Charles and Gerard, all of Lewiston.
