BATH – Troy Barnies poured in 18 points as Edward Little cruised to a 54-30 victory over Morse in boys’ basketball action.

The Red Eddies dashed out to a commanding 24-12 halftime lead and pulled away further by outscoring Morse 16-4 in the third quarter to seal the game.

Travis Barnies and Ben Hartnett combined for 23 points for Edward Little, while Nate Cloutier paced Morse with nine points.

NYA 50, St. Dom’s 43

AUBURN – Liam Anderson and Andrew Gendron combined for 17 points in the fourth quarter to lead North Yarmouth Acadamy to a 50-43 triumph over St. Dom’s in boys’ basketball action Friday night.

The Panthers trailed 28-22 heading into the final stanza. Gendron sank a pair of 3-pointers among his nine points in the quarter and finished with 11 points. Anderson netted two of his four 3-pointers in the quarter and compiled a game-high 20 points. Pak Lul chipped in with 10 points.

The Saints were paced by Joe Bonneau’s 16 points. Andy Allen added 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Boothbay 46, Telstar 24

BETHEL – Owen Johnson scored 20 points in his first game back since missing last season with a knee injury to help Boothbay earn a 46-24 victory over Telstar in a Mountain Valley Conference boys’ basketball game Friday.

Johnson drained four 3-pointers, and the Seahawks (1-0) outscored the Rebels (0-1) by a 24-6 margin in the second half. Roy Arsenault added 11 points.

Telstar was led by Max Meader and Ryan Kimball with six points each.

Gould 71, Averill 13

BETHEL – Ian Siekman scored a game-high 14 points as Gould rolled past Averill 71-13.

Gould jumped out to a 34-3 lead in the first quarter and led 53-5 at the half.

Scot Baribeau posted 13 points, including a trio of three-pointers. Jerry Kan also registered double digits for the Huskies with 12 points. Corey Groves led Averill with seven points.

Mt. Ararat 57, Oxf. Hills 47

SOUTH PARIS – Senior guard Kyle Van Note tickled the twine with 24 points as Mt. Ararat notched a 57-47 victory over Oxford Hills in boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Eagles (1-0) closed an 11-point deficit in the final minutes of the first half with an eight-point run. The Vikings (0-1) led 24-21 at the half.

Mt. Ararat continued their surge in the second half with a spread offense. Senior center Sean Dostie contributed 18 points.

Junior guard Brandon Moffett paced the Vikings with 10 points.

Hall-Dale 65, Jay 60

FARMINGDALE – Josh Acedo tossed in 17 points and Tyler Cummings added 12 as Hall-Dale held off Jay with a 65-60 triumph in a Mountain Valley Conference boys’ basketball game Friday.

The Tigers shot just 15 of 36 from the charity stripe.

Zane Armandi led Jay with 21 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Austin Clark had 15 points and 14 rebounds in his debut, while Nick Bourassa added 11 points.

Boys hockey

Hebron 6, Academie St. Louis 1

HEBRON – Matt Pedemonti scored a hat trick to lead Hebron to a 6-1 victory over the Academie St. Louis in prep school hockey action Friday.

Josh Taylor, Joe King and Eric Rodriguez chipped in with a goal apiece as the Lumberjacks (3-0) remained unbeaten.

Jon Gourde converted an assist from Matt Castonguay for the only St. Louis goal.

Keith MacDonald made 26 saves for Hebron, while Paul Deschenes turned back 20 shots for St. Louis.
