AUBURN – Police are warning area businesses of an ongoing Edward Little High School fundraiser that is not sanctioned by the school.

Police say the organization calling itself the Edward Little Boosters was at one time approved to hold fundraisers. However, the agreement it had with Signature Sports has since been terminated and the group is not allowed to solicit funds.

In recent days, Auburn police intervened in the matter and they expect soliciting to stop. However, they are advising businesses to use caution and to gather information when fundraisers ask them for contributions.

At the same time, police and school administrators are reminding people that there are legitimate fundraisers seeking contributions. Anybody with questions may contact Athletic Director Dan Deshaies or School Resource Officer Kristopher Bouchard at E.L. by calling 783-8528.
