AUBURN – Two new officers have joined the ranks of Auburn Police Department. Two other officers were recently promoted.

Scott Corey and Andrew Feeney are new to the Auburn Police Department.

Corey served as a corrections officer for Cumberland County as well as a patrol officer for the city of South Portland. He was most recently employed by the town of Scarborough.

Corey earned an associate’s degree at Southern Maine Technical College and is a 2000 graduate of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.

He is an emergency medical technician, a certified drug recognition expert and has completed the “Pepper Ball” instructor training course.

Feeney worked for the Fort Fairfield Police Department after graduating from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in 2002. He later worked for the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.

He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Presque Isle where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He was captain of the baseball team and a recipient of the Allan Arman Make a Difference award for leadership in university athletics.

Auburn Police Officer Anthony Harrington was promoted to detective rank. He worked as a patrol officer since he was hired by local police in 2001. He is a certified field training officer and was assigned to the school resource officer program. He was presented with the Auburn School Department System Drop Out Prevention Committee award.

Officer Jason Moore also was promoted to the rank of detective.

Moore, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Persian Gulf War, was hired by the Auburn Police Department in 1996, moving to full time in 1998. He served as a school resource officer then as a member of the local computer crimes task force. He has been instrumental in implementing the department’s new computer system, used also by the Lewiston Police Department and Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.

He was a recipient of the 1998 Maine Chiefs of Police Association Humanitarian by an Officer award.
