CHICAGO – Martin Havlat and Bryan Smolinski each had a goal and an assist to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night.

Tuomo Ruutu and Denis Arkhipov added goals for Chicago, which remained unbeaten in regulation in seven games (4-0-3) under coach Denis Savard. The Blackhawks, however, hadn’t won in their last three games, falling twice in shootouts and once in overtime. Havlat has three goals and two assists in two games after missing 19 contests with a sprained ankle.

Rangers 2, Panthers 1

NEW YORK – Martin Straka set up both New York goals, stretching his career-best point streak to 10 games and lifting the New York Rangers to a 2-1 victory over the Florida Panthers.

Straka earned the second assist on defenseman Michal Rozsival’s first-period goal and then made the key pass to Michael Nylander for another tally in the final frame as the Rangers extended their winning streak to a season-high three games.

Blue Jackets 6, Senators 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rick Nash and Dan Fritsche both scored twice and the Columbus Blue Jackets set a franchise record with five power-play goals to beat the Ottawa Senators 6-2.

It was the Blue Jackets’ fourth straight win, improving coach Ken Hitchcock’s record to 5-3-0 after taking over a team that was 5-13-2.

Suns 114, Bobcats 84

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Amare Stoudemire had 22 points and 12 rebounds to help the Phoenix Suns win their 10th consecutive game, 114-84 over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Boris Diaw added 17 points, Leandro Barbosa had 15, and Shawn Marion and Raja Bell had 14 each. Steve Nash had 11 points and 10 assists.

Trail Blazers 93, Raptors 83

TORONTO – Jarrett Jack had 22 points, a career-high nine rebounds and eight assists and the Portland Trail Blazers won, 93-83 over the Toronto Raptors. Martell Webster added 22 points and eight rebounds for the Trail Blazers.
