PARIS – The Oxford County Superior Court is in the process of reviewing about 100 cases this month, most resolved through plea agreements.

Other cases were either scheduled for pleas later this month, continued or dismissed.

One case, however, will be tried by a jury.

Dean Tosi Jr.’s case will be heard in Superior Court by a jury this month. Tosi, 24, of Casco is charged with eluding an officer, driving to endanger, criminal speeding, unauthorized use of property, operating after revocation and probation violation. He was indicted for the crimes in August 2005.

A jury was selected Wednesday to hear his case. It will go to trial Dec. 18.

Cases against the following have been continued until at least March:

• Mark Ambrose, 31, of 101 Hancock St., Rumford, is charged with two counts of criminal solicitation to commit murder.

• Kurt Sturtevant, 40, of 21 Clifford St., Mechanic Falls, is charged with two counts of gross sexual assault and three counts of unlawful sexual contact.

• Edward Belanger, 55, of 16 Grammer St., Sanford, is charged with unlawful sexual contact.

Of the cases originally scheduled to be heard this month, three involve sex crimes. There are 49 people charged with motor vehicle offenses, such as operating under the influence or operating after suspension. There are 15 who were represented in court for assault or threatening charges and four cases dealing with trafficking or possession of scheduled drugs.

Twenty-three cases on the list deal with property crimes, such as theft and burglary.
