LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will begin registering for swim lessons today for YWCA members and Monday, Dec. 18, for the public. Lessons will be offered Monday through Thursday mornings, afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings.

Classes are available for all abilities and ages. The YWCA offers classes for ages 6 months to adult. Classes may be a half hour or an hour long, depending on level.

Classes will begin Jan. 2 and will run for six or seven weeks. The cost of a half-hour class is $55 for six weeks and $60 for seven weeks. The cost of an hour class is $75 for six weeks. Participants must be members of the YWCA.

Basic membership is good for a year and allows members to participate in YWCA programs on a pay-as-you-go basis. Basic membership fees are: child up to age 12, $30; youth age 13 to 17, $35; adult age 18 to 59, $55; senior citizen, age 60+, $45.
