Seniors to meet

DIXFIELD – The Neighborly Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the American Legion Post. The meeting will be followed by a potluck dinner. Public dinner

PERU – Families in Crisis will serve a public dinner at noon Monday, Dec. 18, at the Rockemeka Grange. A ham dinner with all the fixings will be served. There is no charge for the meal, but donations are welcome. For more information, call Rodney Jamison at 357-0008.

Toys for kids

PERU – Christmas toys will be available for grandparents and parents of children in need this Christmas from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 15, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Peru American Legion, 21 Main St.

Hoop shoot

RUMFORD – The Rumford Elks will host the annual hoop shoot contest at 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Mountain Valley High School gym. Registration will be held from 8 to 9 a.m., with the contest starting at 9.

Categories for boys and girls are ages 8 and 9, 10 and 11 and 12 and 13. Awards will be given for first, second and third place. Those participating are asked to bring their birth certificate and a parent with them.

Mexico Rec Center, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Rumford Armory, Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. Contact Joe Sirois to use facility at 364-4561.

Dirigo High School, Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.

Bowling results

RUMFORD – The Sunday Wonders bowling team will start bowling at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. After bowling, the group will go to the home of Donna Cunningham for a Christmas party.
