Some people just don’t get it. The Rumford selectmen are going to abide by the town charter. It’s time to look at the character of the people who are elected, and claim to be serving the town as selectmen. You don’t correct past errors and/or breaches of the charter by changing the rules.

For the chairman to call the people of Rumford stupid because they voted against this scam is reason to ask for his resignation. When the voters go to the polls and clearly tell their elected officials they must abide by the existing guidelines of the charter, it is not stupid, it is the only honorable thing to do.

The voters have shown they have character, credibility, and honesty. Not so for the selectmen.
