JAY – A Livermore Falls man faces charges of stalking, terrorizing, criminal restraint and violation of his bail conditions after police say he continued to call a woman from jail that he was ordered not to contact.

Travis Martin, 23, was initially arrested on Nov. 29 by Jay police on a charge of domestic assault, police Chief Larry White Sr. said.

Martin was released from jail with the condition he not contact the victim, White said.

Police arrested Martin again Thursday on a charge of violating his bail condition because he had been contacting the victim.

On Friday, police learned that Martin was calling the victim from the Franklin County jail in Farmington, the chief said.

Police investigated the matter and learned that Travis had been watching the woman’s home and stalking her after his Nov. 29 arrest, White said.

Police also learned that Martin had “allegedly held the victim against her will in her home in Jay earlier in the month and had threatened her,” White said.

He had kept her at the home through intimidation and threats of bodily harm, White said.

Police learned during the investigation that Martin had made at least 20 attempts to contact the victim from the jail and a few if those were successful, he said.

White said Franklin County Sheriff’s Detective Tom White, no relation to the chief, was contacted and he took action to make sure the calls stopped.
