MECHANIC FALLS – Tessa Theriault, an eighth-grader at Minot Consolidated School, was named Student of the Month by the Tri-Town Optimists of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland.

Tessa’s teacher, Karen Nichols, praised her for her “service to teachers, the principal and her peers. When I ask the students for a volunteer to do a favor for me, Tessa raises her hand before she even knows what the favor is.”

The Tri-Town Optimist Club is affiliated with Optimist International, one of the world’s largest and most active service club organizations. The club works on projects to benefit area youth and the community.
